summary

In 2011, Leopard Controls was awarded the mechanical electrical and Building Management System (BMS) portion of the Chevron-operated Wheatstone LNG Project in Western Australia. As one of Australia’s largest resource projects, Wheatstone includes a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant with two initial LNG trains, each with a capacity of 4.3 million tonnes per year. The project’s scope involved extensive HVAC control, electrical installations, and the integration of a sophisticated BMS to manage various systems within the construction village and operational areas. Leopard Controls were responsible for ensuring that all facilities, including accommodations for up to 4,300 workers, complied with Australian standards and the Building Code of Australia. This project supports the development of Chevron’s natural gas supply from the Wheatstone, Iago, Julimar, and Brunello fields, contributing to Australia’s energy export infrastructure.
