summary

Leopard Controls has been awarded the BMS Upgrade project at a historic 287-hectare (710-acre) site that was originally home to a radio station operated until 1986 by the Overseas Telecommunications Commission (OTC). This site played a significant role in telecommunications history, as the OTC was one of the two entities that later merged to form Telstra.

The project involves a comprehensive modernization of the existing Building Management Control System, including the supply and installation of Distech ECY Series BACnet IP controllers to replace all existing Siemens controllers while reusing functional control panels, power supplies, and switchgear. Redundant controllers will be removed and disposed of, and new Distech space temperature sensors will be installed in occupied areas. Existing sensors and actuators will undergo a dilapidation inspection to assess their functionality. The upgrade will also integrate high-level interfaces with equipment such as chillers and power meters, calibrate new Variable Air Volume (VAV) controllers, and reuse the existing IP network infrastructure.

A new Dell server and workstation PC for the Facility Manager’s office will be supplied, along with the configuration of Tridium Niagara N4 software for remote access and alarm monitoring. A full 12-month defects liability period will follow the project’s completion.
