summary
Leopard Controls was awarded the Energy Management System (EMS) portion of the Sam Kerr Football Centre development, a state-of-the-art soccer facility and headquarters for Football West. Named after the Western Australian soccer star Sam Kerr, the centre features two full-size grass pitches, three five-a-side synthetic pitches, and various office and meeting spaces. It was completed in mid-2023, in time for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and has since become a hub for national and international soccer teams.
As part of this prestigious project, Leopard Controls supplied CETA Electrical Meters and installed an Optergy EMS, a non-subscription service that allows ongoing tenant energy billing without any recurring monthly costs. The system provides real-time energy monitoring, enabling the facility to manage energy consumption efficiently across the expansive 16-hectare site, which includes a two-storey grandstand seating 700 spectators.
The Optergy EMS not only supports the facility’s energy-saving goals but also delivers seamless tenant billing for utility usage, ensuring cost transparency for Football West and other users of the facility. This innovative approach eliminates the burden of subscription fees, providing long-term financial and operational benefits for the Sam Kerr Football Centre.
